Letter: Ill intent by Liberty? (August 29, 2017)
When will Liberty Utilities realize it’s over? The people of Apple Valley have spoken with the passage of Measure F. We said yes (rather overwhelmingly) to let the town borrow the money to buy Liberty Utilities if the eminent domain lawsuit is successful. That was a clear signal, Liberty. We want you out of our town. We want our town to run our water system.
Instead, you keep dragging out this lawsuit, that will cost your ratepayers millions of dollars and it robs the citizens of Apple Valley of millions as we pay lawyers and consultants in a legal proceeding that will ultimately end when the town buys the water system.
It’s time for Liberty Apple Valley to negotiate with the Town of Apple Valley — you’ll still get your undeserved millions!
