Apple Valley investigation (August 8, 2016)
The Town should be investigated, re: the 7-3-16 [sic] article about stealing water. This isn’t the only problem the A.V. Golf Course has with water. At the last Council meeting there were several speakers talking about cannabis (medical marijuana). Councilman Emick asked a speaker, how much water does it take to grow cannabis
? I assume he thought there wasn’t enough water available for the cannabis growers.
That made me think about all the times I drove by the golf course between noon and 2 p.m. and saw workers pouring so much water on some areas that it literally looked like a swamp. Liberty Water Company tells me to only water before sunrise. I would be willing to bet that the water that is being misused and overused for the golf course could keep the entire High Desert cannabis crop in water through the entire summer.
