Ransom for water (February 23, 2016)
Queen Elizabeth the second is the sovereign in Canada. In the United States of America the people are sovereign. We fought the Revolution, the war of 1812 and many skirmishes from monarchy. Now there are those in Apple Valley who want our water to remain in Canadian control.
The Fifth Amendment is the way we get our water back to the people. The Town Council members who use the exercise of eminent domain are patriots and I view them with pride, soldiers on the line.
Extortion by threat of court cost made by Algonquin-Liberty to the town is outrageous and a fair court should make them pay. We were betrayed by the Carlyle Group. It is ironic that we may pay ransom for our own water to the perpetrators.
