Drilling phase completed on new Ranchos well (December 14, 2015)

Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company on Monday announced it has completed the drilling phase of a new well in Apple Valley. Once in service, the new source will produce up to 3,500 gallons per minute of groundwater from the Mojave Basin, and will replace up to four other aging Ranchos wells that have become inefficient to operate. Drilling and test pumping are now concluded at the Apple Valley Road site, and officials say the sound curtains have been removed. The next step is to design the pumping equipment, along with the structures that will house the well and associated equipment. The building and equipment design and installation will occur in 2016. Total project cost is estimated at $2.2 million.
