AVRWC begins large-scale project (January 5, 2015)
APPLE VALLEY — Apple Valley Ranchos Water Co. will commence a large-scale water main replacement Tuesday in the area of Mondamon, Symeron, Tacony, and Tuscola Roads in the town of Apple Valley. The work area is west of Apple Valley Road and south of Highway 18.
AVR said in a statement that the company sent letters to all customers who live in the area that will be affected by the construction project. Additionally, the construction schedule has been modified to minimize the disruption of traffic at Desert Knolls Elementary School and The Lewis Center for Educational Research.
This project will replace 8,000 feet of old water main and will greatly improve system reliability,
AVR Vice President and General Manager Tony Penna said in the statement. This project, along with several others planned for 2015, are part of our infrastructure investment commitment to preserve the integrity of the water system and reduce the potential of system failures.
The total investment by Apple Ranchos Water in the immediate project is $765,000, the company said.
